A Campaign Launch Luncheon 

Join us as we welcome Janet Snyder Matthews, a Senator Bob Williams Award-winning historian, as she speaks on the newly reprinted version of her book Venice: Journey from Horse and Chaise. 

Dr. Janet Snyder Matthews focuses on state-owned historic properties in St. Augustine in the Office of the Vice President for University Relations, University of Florida. She is author of the book Edge of Wilderness, A Settlement History of Manatee River and Sarasota Bay, now in its third printing, and author of Sarasota, Journey to Centennial. She served in Tallahassee as Director, Division of Historical Resources and State Historic Preservation Officer, Florida Department of State. Janet also served the National Park Service in Washington as Associate Director, Cultural Resources and Keeper, National Register of Historic Places.
