Ice Cream Social and Volunteer Gathering was a Success

Deborah Kostroun and lots of others organized a successful Ice Cream Social and Volunteer Gathering for July 20 in the library’s social room. We all enjoyed an ice cream sundae with all the fixings before listening to Renee Di Pilato, director of libraries and historical resources for Sarasota County. Renee spoke about Intellectual Freedom within libraries. The topic was both informative and timely with the volunteers asking many questions, which Renee answered for us. All enjoyed an afternoon of camaraderie with fellow volunteers, Friends and board members as well as hearing about the significant role libraries have always played in bringing the widest range of materials to communities.
